Vigil service for Isabel Brungardt, 82, will be 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at St.
Mary Catholic Church, Garden City, followed by rosary. Funeral will be 10:30
a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. James E. Baker officiating. Burial
will be in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City.
Mrs. Brungardt died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, at her home in Garden City.
She was born March 19, 1918, at Sitka, the daughter of Alois and Emma
(Wasinger) Quint. The family moved to the Garden City area in 1930. She received
her education in Sitka and Holcomb schools.
A homemaker, Mrs. Brungardt enjoyed reading, gardening and being with her
family. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Senior Center of
Finney County
On May 26, 1936, she married Frank Brungardt at Garden City. He died Dec. 6,
1993. She was also preceded in death by her stepfather, Adam Brungardt; two
sisters, Betty Jane Brungardt and Alvarita Brungardt; a brother, Herman Quint;
and her twin brother, Norbert Quint.
She is survived by a son, Gary Brungardt, Mendota Heights, Minn.; two
daughters, Patricia Hartley, Revenna, Neb., and Sharon Shepherd, Oklahoma City;
five brothers, Richard Quint, Wichita, Raymond Quint, Thomas Brungardt, Robert
Brungardt and Gilbert Brungardt, all of Garden City; two sisters, Shirley
Richmeier and Sister Bertilla Brungardt, both of Garden City; 11 grandchildren;
21 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation hours are until 8 tonight and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday at
Garnand Funeral Home, Garden City. Memorials are suggested to St. Catherine Home
Health and Hospice or the St. Mary School Endowment Fund, both in care of the
funeral home.
