Altar Society and Christian Mother's rosary for Anna M. Sack, 84, of Hays, will be 4:30 p.m. today at Brock's North Hill Chapel, Hays, followed by an Eagles Auxiliary service at 6 p.m., a Daughters of Isabella rosary at 6:30 p.m. and a parish vigil service at 7 p.m.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Church, Hays, with the Revs. Mike Helm and Earl Befort officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Hays.
Mrs. Sack died Tuesday, May 30, 2000, at Kearny County Hospital in Lakin.
She was born Oct. 5, 1914, at Hyacinth, the daughter of Frank P. and Maria (Weigel) Brungardt, and attended grade school at Hyacinth.
A homemaker, Mrs. Sack was a member of St. Joseph's Church, St. Joseph's Altar Society and Christian Mothers, and the Daughters of Isabella and was a charter member of the Eagles Auxiliary, all at Hays.
On Nov. 6, 1939, she married Peter P. "Pete" Sack at Hays. He died May 26, 1983. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Peter F. Brungardt, Fred Brungardt, Richard Brungardt and Killian Brungardt; and three sisters, Catherine Sander, Regina Pfeifer and Rose Schmidt.
She is survived by a son, Gary S. Sack, Hays; four daughters, Carol Meier and Elaine Sack, both of Bakersfield, Calif., Karen Burden, Lakin, and Yvonne Randolph, Garden City; a brother, Bonnie Brungardt, Kansas City, Mo.; three sisters, Helen Hertel, Russell, Clara Sack, Hays, and Celestine Meis, Denver; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation hours are until 9 tonight and from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. Friday at the
funeral chapel. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, The
Center for Energy Medicine in Wichita or for Masses, all in care of the funeral
chapel, 2509 Vine St., Hays, KS 67601.
